Routines for Neurodivergent Learners & Families (Quarter 1)
Creating and putting routines in place at home is a great place to start for our learners. It creates predictability and some structure but also helps teach essential skills for day-to-day life. Let’s go over how to create routines, put them in place and support our learners along the way.

Beyond the Behavior Plan: Transitions
As adults we are the facilitators of change in our home or environment. Sometimes this can make our learners feel out of control and unaware of what’s to come. Let’s build predictability!

Beyond the Behavior Plan: Visual Schedules
Visual schedules represent a way of visually displaying a specific sequence of events, steps, activities within a learner’s day.
Visual schedules are a really adaptable tool and can include many different ways of representing those daily tasks or steps.

Tangible Behavior
Tangible maintained behaviors occur when a learner wants to gain access to something physical (an item or activity) of interest within their environment.

Attention Behavior
How can we functionally support our learners with attention behaviors? Attention maintained behaviors occur when a learner is seeking a specific response, interaction, feedback, etc. for the purpose of social acknowledgement.
